Introduction
------------
The Black & White Player Selector (BWS) is an add-on utility for the game *Black & White* by Lionhead Studios. BWS allows you to choose a player profile *before* starting the game, bypassing the lengthy "auto-load, auto-save, auto-load" sequence normally required when switching players at startup.

Installation
------------
To install BWS:
1. Unzip `BWS.EXE` from the `BWS100.ZIP` file into your Black & White installation folder.
2. Create a copy of your Black & White shortcut.
3. Modify this new shortcut to point to `BWS.EXE` instead of `RUNBLACK.EXE`.

Usage
-----
1. Start BWS by using the new shortcut you created during installation.
2. BWS will display a list of all available player profiles, each labeled with the player’s name and corresponding symbol for easy identification. Custom symbols (`SYMBOLn.BMP`) are fully supported.

To select a player:
- Use the keyboard or mouse to highlight your desired profile, then click OK, or simply double-click on the profile.

After selection, BWS will update Black & White's settings to load the chosen player profile and then launch the game. If you prefer to update the player setting without starting the game, uncheck the "Play Black & White now" option before clicking OK.
