Hei, I'm Marrech, a professional game developer, and in my free time, I'm working on a project that might interest you. I'm drawing inspiration from Black & White and Populous for the mood and design of the game.
Deity's Domain shares many aspects with Black & White: you interact with the game world using a divine hand, it features an alignment system, you cast miracles by drawing them on the ground, and you'll raise a gigantic wolf pup.
Everything in Deity's Domain takes place on an island in a Norse-inspired setting, and the game is structured into three phases:
1- Discovery Phase – You'll take your first steps and learn how to manage your city. Control the climate to ensure fertile fields, defend yourself from enemy gods' attacks to prevent interference in your city's growth, and start accumulating glory to progress to the next phases.
2- Growth Phase – You'll unlock your divine creature, a wolf pup. Raise and train it to follow your will.
3- Ascension Phase – You'll gain a bird's-eye view of the archipelago, allowing you to perform actions on enemy islands. Expand your influence beyond your own island, gather more followers, and reach the pinnacle of glory before your rivals.
The island is full of mysteries. Solve puzzles and perform the right sacrifices to unlock new powers, such as reading the future and predicting enemy moves using the Norns' thread. Make the right offerings to gain the ability to foresee the death date of your followers, and much more…
Deity's Domain isn't trying to be the successor to B&, I believe no one but Lionhead could truly replicate what they created. But I do believe those gems can serve as inspiration to craft a gameplay experience that delivers similar feelings, with fresh mechanics and innovations.
