make the game harder to win

when i play a map and build it up big the map is over before i can have a really good fight, is there a way to make the points less to win over map?

not to deal with building's area it covers on the ground, but the points that win over a map part of it.

The principle is  easy enough.
It's the putting it into practice that could prove more difficult to get right.

If I had some spare time ATM to dedicate to this it should be a simple mod to do.

Perhaps the starting point would  be to compare the standard Game balance file with the "easy" version then change the values that were altered down, to up to make it more difficult the amount to change is the main problem .
