FanPatch v1.42 already has NoCD crack on the runblack.exe. If you re-installed B&W, then you'll need to install official patches v1.10 & v1.20 before the v1.42 FanPatch. Not sure if that helps.

FanPatch v1.4.2 requires the previous official patches of v1.10 and v1.20 to be installed.  Otherwise the game will start and crash after the small intro at the first loading screen. I have other threads out there on how to install the official patches.

Personal experience with the error. I've also fixed it another way that is a little more complicated, and retains the default location for install.
