I could get into a remake of Black & White 1 with updated graphics. I'd say it's better to hope for that than for a true Black & White 3, anyway. Though neither are really likely.

LAN is just playing over the local network in your house, whereas online is using the internet. I believe Phoenix and Hamachi just emulate a LAN connection between two computers over the internet, actually. Because the actual Lionhead servers for Black & White have got to be down now.

I don't really understand your thread title. Do you mean that in and of itself, Black & White 2 isn't good? I'll have to disagree. It's different, and maybe not as good as the original in some ways, but it's a fun game in it's own regard.

It's a longshot, but perhaps if you ran it in compatibility mode for XP, it might work. Or the game may need to be installed in compatibility mode. I doubt that would work, but I suppose it's worth a shot.

On Windows it's the middle mouse button. You could try looking in the pause menu. Go to the controls tab in the options menu and you should be able to see which keys do what, and hopefully either figure out how to do it or set up a key or button to do it.

The lighting effects might be related to graphical detail level. Maybe you have to be at least set to High or something. As far as I know, there is no way to turn off the sound for the lightning miracle. That's all the information I can come up with.
