BW2 doesn't have a Bear. But there is a Turtle.  If you look around in the downloads section, you can probably find what you're looking for. There's a lot of interesting mods and maps.

People do care.  It's just lot of players are not playing BW2 right now and it may take a while before you get some feedback. But someone will post something.  Give it some time, and I'm sure you'll get a response.

Practice makes perfect.  Try your ideas out, draw them up, and learn from each attempt you make!

There aren't many BW1 modelers still active, but perhaps when one of them logs in they'll see what they can do.  Have you tried your hand at skinning or modelling the Creatures?  It's a very interesting experience.

Perhaps my memory fails me, but didn't BW1 have a Native American tribe with wigwams and tipis?  I don't remember if BW2 had that tribe or if it's feasible as a modded tribe.... That's all I can really think of for now.
