the game did not run AT ALL without the fan patch. 

basically have the normal game running, i have the patches and the fix installed and limit the game to run on one of my CPU cores however I still get frequent crashes at random when i do anything menu related like shopping for new stuff looking through the construction menu or saving.  Any tips...

I tried running it in various compatibility modes(xp sp2/sp3 win2000) to no avail it did absolutely nothing.  I was able to following the sticky thread get the original version of the game to run with the patches and the fix.  Anyone know why I am having issue getting the expansion to run I've...
